As I dig further into podcasting, what appeared to be a simpler solution is turning out to be a bit more complex. Yes, the processing of the media files is easier and smaller – it is audio only instead of video – but the process by which to post and distribute is more complex by far. Or at least my knowledge and awareness is more lacking. In the case of video, it is pretty easy these days – configure a YouTube account and start posting. Worse case, publish links to the YouTube channel. In the case of podcasts, you have to start with a website, configure a feed, register in iTunes, and various other steps. In my case, with several distinct podcast “subjects”, that is that much more complex, since they are all fed from the same site.
Needless to say, although I will be pursuing this effort, I expect there to be more than a few hiccups while I get into the process and learn the does and don’t.
