If you ended up watching the Rise of the Runelords video from yesterday or listening to the podcast, first, thanks for being my limited audience. Second, you likely noticed a lot of background noise on the recording, mainly due to impact noise caused by movement on the table translating into the rather sensitive microphone. In order to help pick up some of the more silent voices, I moved the microphone to the center of the table – unfortunately this meant that it then picked up all the nudges, shakes, and knocks from the table as well.
In an effort to combat that noise, and combining my 3d printing efforts, I have tested out a couple of options of shock-mounts for the microphone, and settled on the current option. Haven’t had a chance to test it out yet (that will be this weekend), but so far it manages to suspend the mic completely, while still allowing access to the various switches and buttons.
The tripod itself is a 3d printed item as well, which works as a mini-tripod for various uses
