3d printing commissions

Starting to dabble a bit more into 3d printing for fun and profit, with my first commissioned parts for a friend.  My recent successful prints have given me confidence that I know what I am doing, and can repeatedly succeed on the print jobs.  So my first effort is a printed set of parts, for a science experiment, using parts from Thingiverse.

Unfortunately, the fickle 3d Printer gods are having fun with me, since as soon as I agreed to take on the job, the printer started to act up.  Since this morning, I have attempted more than a dozen tries at the first part, all of which failed rather rapidly.  At first it was just a matter of adhesion (resolved apparently by cleaning the plate, re-leveling, and adjusting the bed temperature (with some additional glue stick).  Now I have a extrusion issue – as soon as my printer moves from the bottom skin to the infill layers, the extrusion seems to stop entirely.  Not sure if it is jamming, becoming overheated, or underheated, but since I wasn’t catching it fast enough, the print would fail.

The latest attempt I caught it, and with some pressure on the filament, appear to have rescued the print.  Once that first “jam” is past, the rest (thus far) seems to be printing without issue.  Fingers crossed this first part of 7 finishes cleanly.
