I have been attempting to work my way thru the confusing world of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Basically, when you have a website, Google, Bing, Yahoo and other search engines use scripts, programs, and robots to scan the site and catalog the content. Based on their results, your site may or may not show up when someone searches for a related topic. Since my site tracks how many search engines refer browsers to the site, I have noticed that I am never visited by anyone other than thru using Google, and that is very low. In truth, this might simply be that my content has very little interest – I am not delusional enough to expect a huge audience. However, I would have expected at least some small growth over the last year, so I am thinking perhaps my site isn’t cataloged properly.
As a result, you may notice some new features and functions, or layout changes. Much of this is related to new addons, in an attempt to more properly reference my site. Some will likely make little difference, others might be more of an impact. Either way, I will see after a few weeks if my number of site hits starts to change in any manner.
