For our secondary campaign, we have decided to give a try to a Shadowrun 5th edition campaign. The intent here is to run the campaign entirely online, using Roll20 or a similar virtual tabletop, which will allow not only a large pool of players, but flexibility on scheduling and not requiring a gaming location. Plus it indirectly helps one of the players to justify the acquisition of a new laptop.
We were going back and forth between Shadowrun and a second Pathfinder game, both of which have pros and cons, but settled on Shadowrun, mainly because it is something different. I have enough trouble keeping a single campaign straight, mixing two campaigns with the same setting and mechanics would likely lead to some confusion. Plus, I have been itching to play Shadowrun again.
Tentatively, we will be working up characters this weekend, using the Chummer character tool, and then importing them into Roll20. I am planning to drop the priority system, and instead use the karma system (not sure what the popular name is), which will allow players to create the exact character they want. My intent is to record and stream the sessions thru either Twitch or YouTube Live, I will post the links once I get those sorted out. In the meantime, I have some work to get everything set up, and come up with some adventure ideas.
