The other purchase I was focused on during the recent Gencon event was obtaining a copy of the newly released Star Wars X-Wing, revised for a 2nd edition. Officially, the game is being released I believe in early September to stores, but Fantasy Flight had brought an overly healthy supply to the convention for early sales. This isn’t a game that I had originally decided to get into, favoring instead Star Wars Armada, but with the new edition it looked to be a good time to start. In my mind, it was previously just too heavily supported, and I would not have easily been able to catch up. Now with everything being re-released, although I am behind the curve, I can still pace myself somewhat. And this gives me alternative places to spend spare money, since the Star Wars Armada release schedule is fairly slow.
They did have several addons available as well, though for the price, I wasn’t that interested as of yet. First, I need to actually play the game with the kids, and see how well I like it, before we start to drop the additional funds on the various other ship options.
