Hopefully, you had a good holiday, of whatever form you celebrate, or at least are looking forward to a bright New Years. For me and the family, Christmas was enjoyable, most everyone seems to have received everything they wished for. Unfortunately, the big intended present for myself rather unexpectedly failed to show an appearance. Or more specifically, the box showed up, but it had apparently been substituted for an “exercise disk” at the Amazon shipping center. Bit of a disappointment when the box was opened, though I am sure someone somewhere had a very nice holiday.
Blessing in disguise though – we are processing the issue with Amazon, and in the meantime I re-priced my options. As a replacement, I was able to upgrade to GTX 1080 graphics card to a RTX 2070 card, bundled with a copy of Battlefield 5 – for $60 cheaper than the original purchase. So in exchange for waiting a couple more days, I end up with more than I asked for, for less cost.
Honestly, this is the first time we have suffered from a substituted and stolen online order though I expect it happens a lot. Definitely worthwhile opening your boxes as soon as they arrive.
