Starting preparations for our annual Thanksgiving Magic: The Gathering tournament, which admittedly isn’t until late November. However, there is a bit of preparation I need to do, not the least of which is prepare, build, and paint the trophy for this year. I expect I will use the same model, obviously updating the year, but it was a lengthy process last year.
For the format, I am considering mixing it up a little bit, and potentially going with a sealed-deck format. This would require an entrance fee (I would be hard pressed to purchase that many starter decks), but would give everyone something to go home with. It would have the benefit though of welcoming novice players, and giving them a decent chance at victory. Technically, anyone can win with just about any deck, but it is certainly biased towards those with experience and larger collections.
