For our second major Pathfinder campaign, we have selected to run the Kingmaker campaign. This is partially due to the group’s expressed interest in above ground adventuring (compared to interior dungeons), and partly a factor of the time frame we have in mind. As stated previously, we are planning to start a new long term campaign once the 2nd edition of Pathfinder is released, which gives us about 6 months of a campaign. Kingmaker works well for this, since it is much more of a sandbox – there is no definitive end as such for the first few chapters (though of course each chapter has a defined end. This makes it more palatable to be stopped (or started) mid-stream, without much impact.
This particular campaign also helps with the groups desire to try some of the less common combinations, without the long term commitment. As such, our group has turned out to be rather varied, with several classes I have not seen in use before, and a couple of combinations that are rather rare. Once I compile all of the players and characters, I will post a roster of the new, very large would-be heroes of the Kamalands.
