Managed to fit in another game of Zombicide: Black Plague, as we ever so slowly work our way thru the starter set missions. This time it was Quest 8 – The Evil Temple, and our first “Hard” mission. The first attempt went badly, the group split up and then encountered nothing but misses on their attacks. By round three, the zombies had overwhelmed half the group and were closing in on the rest.
The second attempt was far better – dice behaved for the most part, the group stuck together, and the card draws were decent. Most notably, they managed to pace themselves such that everyone was even on experience and the zombie horde was still kept at minimal levels. They just about made it thru the entire deck before anyone had reached Yellow level experience. In the process, they had heavily geared up, such that the final push was really rather trivial. What few zombies managed to get close where cut down by the elf, and the rest were clear to move as desired. We ended with a flawless victory on the part of the group.
As an experiment, I tried out some new theories and options with recording the session. I doubt I will end up publishing the game session, but this will be useful for our eventual Pathfinder 2 campaign in August. This gave me plenty of material, without the pressure of getting it “right” the first time thru.
