Finalizing my second composition testing of video/podcast production, with the video rendering now in the background. This should be almost a final test, before we start our Age of Ashes campaign next month.
I managed to pull together some logos and intros, along with some music I am happy with, and now have a reliable process to edit and build the various components of the session. May still adjust a bit, but overall I am happy with these pieces.
Video quality itself is of course still amateur – there is only so much that can be done with bargain price cameras and minimal color-grading skills. I am getting better, but really need a good way to understand those processes.
Audio is still a challenge – my efforts to put a mic on each player have run into budget limitations, so I am falling back to plan B (or C). I will instead be using the Zoom H1 for area sound for the group, and a lavalier mic for myself specifically. Hopefully, that will clean up some of the issues, and make the sound more even. Very little I can do about sound reflection in the room though, so still trying to figure out a solution there.
Once the test video is rendered, I will likely post a copy here for any feedback, but will not be posting it to YouTube or similar locations. It is much more of a test at this point rather than a public presentation.
