Our first session is now available, for good or bad. Although this is far from a professional video, I am decently happy with how it turned out. Of course, most of the credit goes to the group for providing the details of the story.
After reviewing the video several times, I continue to have improvements and changes that will likely take place over the next several episodes. The first is a change of cameras – several of my current cameras record in different frame rates. That makes it exceedingly challenging to sync up audio with faces, as you may notice in the video. I tried to hide it, but there just wasn’t much option part of the time. By using identical cameras, that problem will hopefully no longer be an issue, and I can zoom in a bit tighter on some of the players to present them a bit better.
Audio is also still a work in progress. The general omni-direction mic is decent, and picks up most of the group. For myself though, I had intended to have a lavalier mic, but forgot it during the session, and need to work out a capture option that is not intrusive. Recording directly to a camera works, but would be on the opposite side of the room.
As always, I am looking for constructive feedback in any form. If you have suggestions or ideas, or something you liked, please leave me a comment here or on the video.
And of course, if you are willing, like and subscribe to the video, to help me stay motivated to keep going.
