Having arrived home again, I compiled and digitally assembled the second floor of the Watch Tower project. As before, a bit of re-scaling to make the assembly easier, resizing down by about 1.5%. The new model is estimated at 21 hours and 52 minutes by the software, so it will likely be a 24 hour+ run.
As a side note, I weighed the first floor model, and the estimate actually a bit high – Simplify3D claimed 168 grams, the final model came in 164 grams. Based on this, the second floor estimate of 189 grams should be pretty close as well.
Fingers crossed that by tomorrow evening, I can hopefully begin the 3rd floor. As before, this model is being printed at 0.15mm layer height, and a 10% infill.
As a side note, of interest at least to myself – these models are able to be printed without support, except for the manual addition of support under the staircase. Everything else, including the corbels on the second level claim to be able to be done without support materials.
