Extinction Curse

A very solid start to our second major campaign, Extinction Curse. Though one player was missing, they will be joining us for the next game. In the meantime, the new group became acquainted with each other, and the business of running a circus.

I had my concerns over the dryness of the circus itself, but in reality the scenario was rather enjoyable. The group had a grand time, not only putting on the show itself, but adapting and overcoming the various unexpected events. It was certainly more exciting than my reading of the book implied.

I was also concerned about the adventure hook of a murder, and just how similar that setup was to the Fall of Plaguestone – which we had used as a Pathfinder introduction. However, for this first chapter, The Show Must Go On, the mystery was minimized as the group was far too busy keeping the crowds happy to get bogged down.

The final conflict of the first scene was admittedly rather dangerous, but the group managed to come thru without much difficulty, and are intrigued to explore further the lands of the Starstone Isles.
