With the current double-campaign for Pathfinder, my plate is pretty full on GM’ing storylines. However, I still have a desire to play, and have an upcoming option with a recent acquaintance and a planned Starfinder campaign. I have never played Starfinder before, but I am always up for learning.
So far from my basic research, it feels like a blend of Pathfinder 1st edition and 2nd edition, but of course set in a science fiction environment. I am curious to see how well the various concepts hold up – historically I have not been a fan of hit points vs guns – but it isn’t a concern since it ultimately doesn’t fall on me for the success.
As stereotypical as it is, my character is a basic Vesk soldier mercenary, all brute strength and military bravado. Potentially an easy target for death, though he should be able to take a few foes with him.
First game starts in a couple of weeks, will see how my reaction to the system is at that point.
