Since I haven’t posted in a while (since last year), my updates on our current Pathfinder 2e campaigns has been lacking. As a reminder, we have two active campaigns, both bi-weekly. The first is the Age of Ashes storyline, the second is the Extinction Curse storyline, and both have been running for quite some time.
The Age of Ashes campaign is our every-other-Sunday game, which still continues without disruption. The group is progressing rapidly thru Chapter 3, and are currently level 11. After investigating the activities of the Scarlet Triad in Kintargo, they assaulted the society’s operations in the mountains. Unfortunately, they became a bit stretched, and were overwhelmed by the defenses, resulting in the entire group becoming captured. During the last session, the group was faced with a daring escape plan, a ticking clock, and the villain’s deathtrap for the group. The battle thus far has been dangerous and hard, but the group is slowly gaining the upper hand, despite the apparent efforts of a few of the group. This next session will determine the fate of the group and the plans in the region.
For the Extinction Curse campaign, the group is level 8, and similarly nearing the end of Chapter 2. They have continued to investigate the actions of the Troglodytes in Escadar, and uncovered some disturbing history behind the religion of Aroden and the Starstone Isles. In the meantime, they continue to be harassed by the forces of the Celestial Menagerie circus, and have been granted the right to arrest Mistress Dusklight. Arriving at the Menagerie’s circus grounds, the group was able to successfully bluff their way in, only to discover that the Mistress was expecting them, and had laid a trap for the group. The group is now struggling to work their way thru the challenges, and hopefully capture the villain.
Both campaigns continue with oversized groups, 10 players for the Age of Ashes, and 8 for the Extinction Curse storyline. Both campaigns continue thru Fantasy Grounds (now using the Unity version), and in general I am rather happy with the stability, functionality, and programming of the tool. Although the games do bog down due to either rules discussions or simply the number of players, we do manage to keep moving and make progress.
Video documentation has off course been suspended as previously documented, at least until we resume in person gaming. Which sadly does not appear to be happening any time soon :(.
