In preparation for a game George is hoping to host this weekend, we moved forward with setting up the gaming space and table to take advantage of the first wave of ideas. In particular, we wanted to use the massive table, along with a flat screen to display Fantasy Grounds and the virtual tabletop. This set up is a draft – I want to see how well the ideas work before I commit to my next projects of a larger game surface with the embedded screen.
The other challenge is that with the ongoing pandemic, several of the players will still be remote. Though that will be in person will be masked for the duration, but there are certainly still concerns either way. For the remote players, we needed a way to not only see them, but also to be heard. And they need to be able to see the local players and hear the group as well. This was fairly straight forward with the use of an old iPad and our Discord server – though I am still dubious on the quality level.
For those of our regular games, this is a preview of our eventual gaming space, once we are ready to resume normal gaming.
