Very solid start to our Chapter 2 of the Carrion Crown, with the group heading to Lepidstadt. Despite a short detour into the marshes around the region, they managed to make it to the town safely, and quickly found themselves caught up in the whirlwind of events around the trial of the century – the trial and expected convinction of the Beast of Lepidstadt. The group now finds themselves, willingly or otherwise, as the designated defenders of this beast, in an effort to obtain some sense of a fair trial.
Overall, the group did well, despite the minimal combat, and now have numerous leads to followup on with a very tight timeframe to do so. As expected, the group has separated to tackle several locations at the same time, which works pretty well given our normal group size.
Separately, the technology for the stream I think I am finally happy with. Reviewing the video, all the audio was clear and solid. I could perhaps turn the player mics up slightly, but that really wasn’t an issue – I could hear all the players. Late in the session, I did start to see stuttering in the video itself – I believe this is due to the computer overloading with heat, and is a fairly simple fix (I prop it up slightly to improve airflow underneath). Discord was good as well, with one remote player – there was some small echo on their side, but nothing I could detect in our recording. And the changes to the layout of the screen worked well, if a bit basic. I did forget to toggle to and from the dice tray at times, but that is a minor cosmetic issue. Really other than getting use to all the processes, it was pretty successful.
Next step is now some minor tweaks, and to configure our Extinction Curse layout in the same manner.
