The third model I have been working on painting this week is Darth Maul – a piece that was actually back-ordered for a very long time. I had even gone to the extent of 3d printing a proxy model, though I never ended up painting or using it.
The model as pictured isn’t quite finished. Beyond the obvious based that needs to be completed, I still need to paint the tattoo marks on the face and neck, to really fill in the character. Everything else is done, a bit of necromancer cloak on the cloth and matt black on the leather, followed by a contrast paint of Black Templar, and the figure was mostly done. The head was another contrast paint, and some shining silver with Nuln Oil on the lightsaber wraps it up.
The Sith Probe Droids were simple – really just a heavy wash of Black Templar and a bit of red for the lenses. These in particular I was happy to finally be able to glue onto the stand, they have been rolling around for several weeks threatening to be lost or broken.
