Ran our second round of the local competition, continuing with my existing Rebel skirmish force. This time, the battle was against another Rebel force, led by Princess Leia. The competition was fierce, and I started off on the defensive. The opponent’s army was heavy on Scouting, and Leia hands out lots of dodge tokens. That made it a very fast attack force, and in the first round I had lost 2 of my 6 units. With my units on the defensive, I managed to control the battlefield with the A-A5 Speeder truck and started to strike back. Unfortunately, I believe I could not roll a single success on saves, and my attacks were very unsuccessful – it was a struggle to get any kills. By the end of the game, half the army was gone, but the enemy had a commanding position, with several units running across the field for the BreakThru objective.
In the last round however, the situation changed. The Speeder was still alive, and Jyn was unable to reach or eliminate any units, so jump onboard. With a final move, both units moved to scoring range, and we ended up with a tie on victory conditions. Going to points, I had an advantage with the Speeder surviving. After the calculations, we ended up with a small advantage to my forces, meaning my first victory.
