Schedule updates

Haven’t had much time to post in the last week or two, due to an overload of work these days. Without going into too much detail, I manage a large team, much of which are ill equipped to handle recent client demands. As such, I have been wearing many hats, and handling multiple jobs. Hopefully that is now on the downswing, and time will improve again.

However, despite the pressure, this hasn’t stopped us from continuing our various projects and efforts – we continue our pair of Pathfinder campaigns, we are looking to resume the Warhammer campaign, Star Wars Legion is ongoing, and we have the Eagle Project to wrap up soon. Plus, my youngest has become interested in Paintball, leading to a new distraction, and I am of course looking to branch out into new and different content.

For the Pathfinder campaigns, both the Extinction Curse and the Carrion Crown campaigns continue to run strongly. I continue to post our live streams to YouTube (link), though the audience remains small. I think most of the technical issues have been worked out at this point, but without any real viewers, it is difficult to get feedback. Coincidentally, both storylines have reached a bit of a moral challenge, with the religious following struggling to balance their edicts of religion, with the player’s choice of actions in the storyline. In one case for Carrion Crown, the Champion of Pharasma has been digging up graves, in order to prove the innocence of the Beast of Lepidstadt. In the Extinction Curse, the new Cleric of Sarenrae is now faced with handing over a powerful artifact to an apparently evil creature for redemption, or striking down the creature (and bringing about the destruction of a local town). Both are interesting mental challenges, and a nice change from the routine combat of the day pattern. More details to come this week.

In our Legion Skirmish tournament, we have completed 3 of the 4 scheduled games, and sadly my Rebel unit is not doing too well. I have lost 2, and only won 1 by a narrow margin. I did manage a solid victory against my younger son with the same force, but that wasn’t a competition game, and he isn’t advanced as the other tournament players, so not counting that one. The 4th game is likely to be skipped, we have been having challenges reaching some of the players in order to coordinate game times. Again, more details to come.

George’s Eagle Project, a set of library resource boxes to be placed at local parks, is starting to make progress again. Much of it is forced – the wife wants the garage accessible again. This is a project that was supposed to be done last summer, but due to scheduling issues and numerous other items pushed into late fall. At that point, the snow and cold weather halted the work until the last few weeks. Now we have the doors mostly finished, the boxes built, and the final sealing and painting can be done. We have been directed to avoid any other conflicts, so that we get the project completed, so have been more focused on it in recent days.

However, at the same time, my youngest has been bit by the itch of Paintball, after attending a recent birthday event. As such, he is attempting to gather a group of friends to play every month, while also dreaming of gear and equipment. There seems to be willingness, but some reluctance from others while the weather is cold. Our second attempt at a first session will be this weekend, and hopefully we can get at least a few out to play.
