Latest episode of our Extinction Curse campaign should be posted now at the below link. The group continues to explore Xul-Khundar in the Black Desert, searching for clues on the location of the last Aeon Sphere. This session was a bit heavier on the combat – the nature of high-level Pathfinder is much more long epic combats, but the group finally (after only 15 levels) might be starting to work together.
The first battle against undead Xulgath guardians was a bit chaotic, but the group did arrange themselves with tanks in the front, damage in the back, which helped a lot. Unfortunately, the cleric was a bit too aggressive and drew a lot of attention, and the group’s recently rescued Ranger was fond of taking on foes solo (and frequently forgetting about their attacks of opportunity).
After a bit of a rest, and a bit of tomb robbing, they pushed forward, and quickly drew the attention of a squad of undead Driders and their commander. In a rare show of tactics, they formed a battle line, dropped a lingering AOE, and watched as the creatures became fascinated at range while they rapidly roasted. Although the spell was dispelled by the enemy, by that point the foes were notably weakened, and the follow up fight was significantly easier.
