Continuing the work and printing on the life-size B1 Battle Droid, which is now able to stand on its own. Central body pieces are still printing, then I can tackle the arms and hands, but the main structure is intact. Total height to the top of the head is about 6 foot 4 inches, taller than me which was a surprise. The base of the statue is a 24″ round piece of wood, the feet will be secured to that stand for stability.
Color scheme will be mimicking my Star Wars Legion figures, using a white undercoat and the airbrushing with Skeleton Horde contrast paints. The airbrush will make the paint stretch (hopefully far enough), and contrast paints cost about as much as a generic can of spray paint. Fingers crossed I can color the entire figure in 1-2 paint pots. The top of the head and center of the chest will receive the yellow Commander’s coloration as well.
For the base, my intent is to continue the theme, by decorating it with fake terrain. Effectively, I am trying to make a life-size “miniature” B1 Battle Droid.
The droid’s rifle is already completed, and base coated in black, I need a simple drybrush of gunmetal next to wrap it up. Also planning on doing a binocular for him to hold in his left hand. Backpack option most likely will not be printed, since he is a commander, so after the arms, the printing will be almost complete.
