Another week, and our next episode of Legion, with a battle between the Empire and the Republic. This is hopefully our last “training” game, introducing what seems to be our last new player (playing Empire). After this, my plan is to wipe the win/loss record, and then start off keeping semi-official records.
Unlike our prior game, we were able to conclude the game, although the final results did have some uncertainty. In particular, we had a debate about unit visibility and line of fire, which would have significantly changed the results. After review though, we stuck with the initial decision, though it wasn’t necessarily popular with the losing player.
After this point, I am going to make an effort to not jump in and provide advice or guidance – all players know the game now, though they are not experts. My need to bias one side or the other is now just annoying – my son has commented that some of the games feel like they are playing me, rather than the actual player – which is a fair complaint and one that I want to correct.
