My experimentation with release schedules seems to be helping somewhat with the visibility and engagement of the YouTube videos. Specifically, our most recent Battle Report (Episode II, Republic vs Empire) is now my fastest growing battle report, crossing the 1000 views line after only 5 days. Most of the other battle reports have hit the 300+ mark, and a few are close to 1000, but this is the first to break that milestone.
All of which of course is a small target compared to many other channels, but for me and our little group, it brings a solid sense of accomplishment and growth. This is especially true since I have been posting videos now since 2015, and very few have gone very far (admittedly many are rather dull and poorly produced).
The extra traffic is also bringing more interest in our gaming videos, some of the recent episodes seeing a bit of a bump as well (talking in the 10s of views, instead of single digits). Not surprisingly, there just isn’t much appetite for long-format RPG sessions, though that doesn’t seem to be discouraging me from posting them. Worse case, it’s a memory for our group, to rewatch sometime in the future to re-experience the story. Or perhaps someone else can find entertainment from following our group’s efforts and general lack of coordination.
My next targeted goal is now to grow the subscriber audience. the recent surge has stalled out at about 120 after the recent increases, but we do continue to add a fan every once in a while. My next milestone is the big 1000 subscriber level, which is the point at which YouTube actually considers us “real”.
As always, like, subscribe, follow, and share – help us continue to grow the community.
