On Friday of last week, we managed to record our planned oversized Star Wars Legion battle report – two armies of 800 points each, on two different sides, for a total of 3200 points of figures. The battle results were impressive, both sides fought hard and long for victory. Without any spoilers, the victory was our closest to date, with only a few points separating the winners from the losers.
The actual event was an exercise in endurance. We started at 6:30 PM, and wrapped up at approximately 4:30 AM the following morning, making it a 10-hour effort. After editing, it came in at about 2 hours, or the usual 20%. Despite my concerns, the editing did not require 3x the length (30 hours), but came in at about 8 hours or so, I didn’t really track it that carefully.
For publishing, I prepared two options. The first basic option is a 2-part video release, part 1 (turns 1-3) will release on 6/9, and part 2 (turns 4-6) will release on 6/16. As usual, any Patreon supporters have early access as of the prior Sunday, until the links go public on the Friday morning.
I also prepared a full-cut video, with the entire battle in one sitting. Clocking in at just over 2 hours, it is a bit unreasonable for most viewers on YouTube, but any Patreon supporters have access to this as well.
