Sabine Wren

Featured in a recent battle report recording, Sabine Wren enters the battle for the Rebellion with her colorful armor and decorations. This is an older model that I held off on due to the extra decorations – a rather intimidating pattern. However, once I had actually started, I didn’t end up finding it particularly hard and instead rather fun.

In this case, I opted to first paint the Mandalorian armor the basic greys, as if it has not been colorized. From there, I used a reference photo and added most of the graffiti. Much of the yellows ended up being several layers of contrast due to their transparency, but the overall result I was quite pleased with. Almost certainly I will use the same strategy and colors when I paint up the rest of Clan Wren.

For a reference photo, I used a photo of Sorastro’s painting, same model, same pose, similar coloration. My thanks to Sorastro for his inspiration – though I can’t match his detail, I am encouraged by his designs.
