Its official, as of this morning, our Tabletop channel is officially recognized as part of the YouTube Partner Program. That means we are monetized and can start earning some minimal revenue. In truth, it will be truly minimal – the only avenue that is really opened up is what YouTube terms SuperChat, SuperStickers, and SuperThanks. Chat and Stickers are for live streams, which we really are not using, and SuperThanks is along the lines of a tip given for a solid video. As a result, the real impact is likely going to be minimal or non-existent. But the option is now open.
For our channel, it has been a long road. Technically, the channel has existed since way back in November of 2015, but at that time it was a lot of random nonsense (3d printing videos and very poor-quality videos). Our true growth, and what I would consider the logical start was really when we started the Star Wars Legion content, in July 2022. Since that time, we have posted nearly 60 battle reports, and grown the subscriber count to a current 562 level. Thanks to recent YouTube policy changes, this qualifies us for the Partner Program, though at reduced capability.
The long-term goal is still to reach the 1000 subscriber level (and beyond), since that unlocks ad revenue options, which in theory might be worth a cup of coffee or two. Perhaps in another year, we will reach that point. In the meantime, I continue to try to create entertaining content as best I can, one step at a time.
Related, our RPG content channel has grown to a passable 47 subscribers, though there is no danger of it reaching the same lofty levels any time soon. But if you have interest in Live-play RPGs, consider that channel for a visit.
