After 3 years, we have wrapped up the Carrion Crown TTRPG campaign. We started this storyline back in the summer of 2021, and finished the conclusion yesterday in March 2024. 52 sessions of adventure, at approximately 5 hours per session, bringing the total to just under 200 hours of entertainment and content. I was going to upload a master edit with the full content, but apparently YouTube limits videos to 12 hours. Instead, the playlist will remain available (Carrion Crown).
This campaign was originally published by Paizo as a 1st edition Pathfinder campaign, for this run, we converted on the fly to a 2nd Edition Pathfinder game. For the most part, that worked well, but there were certainly challenges at times – especially at the higher levels. The group was engaged though, and eager for the story, and really dug into the various chapters. A personal highlight for me was Chapter 2, Trial of the Beast, in which the group has to defend a flesh golem against the mobs in a court setting. Not only did they need to investigate the crimes and find evidence, but then we held a trial, and they had to use their legalese to defend the creature against the prosecution. It was a rather unique and enjoyable experience, split across several sessions.
In previous groups, we had attempted this campaign, and the group managed to make it almost to the end (only a few scenes away) before a TPK wiped out all motivation. This time, the group had ample reinforcements and managed to power thru, despite the difficulties of many of the fights.
My thanks and appreciation to all players for their commitment and dedication to the storyline. The is actually the second complete campaign this particular collection of players have completed, the first being the full Rise of the Runelords campaign back for 1st edition Pathfinder.
Our final video will post this Friday, with the conclusion events of the storyline. In particular, I added an epilogue to the end of the video, which reveals the events of Ustalav after the campaign.
In the coming weeks, we have some new campaigns kicking off, with our start of Traveller, and a potential next Pathfinder campaign.
