• Kingmaker (Pathfinder 2e) 3.09

The group continues to explore the ruined keep, deep in the wilderness west of their kingdom. Dealing with Fey strikes and multiple magical traps, the group is damaged but defiant as they seek to gather all the riches of the site. Meanwhile, with a change to the Kingdom phase (now being done offline as a background process), the scouts have indicated that they have located the source of the Troll threat. https://youtu.be/XZdML69sWrA

  • Dwarf Treasure Hunters (Mordheim) – Grimnar Ironhand

Continuing my painting tutorial series with a Dwarf Noble model, and the start of a new Mordheim warband – the Dwarf Treasure Hunters. As my warband leader, Grimnar Ironhand provides the stubbornness and strength of the dwarves, ready to face any challenges that may come their way. I tried a few alternate techniques this time, including painting the eyes and trying some highlighting. Some good, some not so good, but the model in the end turned out nice. If you have a similar model, or just want to follow along for some tips, join in the discussion.

  • Mordheim 005 – Lizardmen vs Witch Hunters

We have a short battle report this week for Mordheim, with Ben’s Lizardmen facing Thad’s Witch Hunters. The mission was an Occupy goal, both sides competing to hold ground against the enemy. Overall, the fight was pretty even – both sides suffered steady but fairly even casualties.

  • The Halfling’s Brush – ARF Troopers

My first painting video of substance is the recently released ARF Troopers for Star Wars Legion. This includes 7 Galactic Republic Clones and a single Jedi Guardian, usable in games of Legion. This is a new format for me and my channel, an attempt to create and publish painting content. Since I do a lot of miniature painting (some of it is even decent), I finally set up a layout by which I can record the work. These sessions are then edited down, to walk thru the steps needed to paint the models. This includes paint colors, techniques, hints and…

  • The Halfling’s Brush

I spent a lot of time today and over the last weekend, setting up and then using a new painting station. This allows me to record my paint efforts, and thru a bit of editing magic, turn them into hopefully useful tutorials and walk thrus. I am not a professional level painter, and frequently not even a very good one. But most of the information I can share can be used by almost anyone, regardless of skill level, to at least get an adequate attempt on the table. With time, no doubt my skills will improve. For now, I am…

  • New paint rack

I have been working on a re-design of my painting station, trying to put most of the various pieces up on the wall (using designs by Multiboard). As part of this, I realized that my existing paint racks where rather over-sized. They worked well to store paints, but the angle and size meant that there was a lot of wasted space underneath and behind. The overall size is also obsolete given my current primary laser cutter, since they were cut using the diode laser. Still possible to re-create, but a lot more effort (and messier). As a result, I re-designed…

  • The Enemy Within (Warhammer FRP) 5.46

Our group is deep in the mountain pass, on the trail to the Brass keep, dealing with mysterious plague fogs and Skaven warbands. Discovering a shrine to Nurgle, they face another warband of the Skaven, before many secrets begin to be revealed. As the situation takes a turn for the worse, sacrifices are required from the group. https://youtu.be/Dh1c1hyXZ_I

  • Kingmaker (Pathfinder 2e) 3.08

Following the devastating losses from the prior session, our group rebuilds and regroups at their capital, before setting forth into the wilderness again. A new location is scouted, and the group begins to explore, only to discover it is protected by a supernaturally fast fey creature, intent on protecting its possessions. https://youtu.be/KBpS1zDZXwQ
