Continue to get a stream of fan art from the players in the Rise of the Runelords campaign, of pretty decent quality given the age of the players. It is entertaining to me that I can not only recognize the creatures being drawn, but also how it relates to the particular section of the storyline – and especially the interpretation of the player based on the descriptions I have been giving them. Keep them coming!

The latest Pathfinder gaming episode is most of the way thru the editing process, and I am expecting to have it wrapped up by Friday evening. Most likely it will be posted as an extra posting rather than waiting until Monday. As usual, the amount of material, and my limited schedule has made it take longer than intended. Of course, with my conversion to podcast format, the processing should hopefully be faster. But that won’t happen until at least the start of Chapter 4, sometime next month. The next session this weekend might just finish Chapter 3, but it could…

So I think I finally have a handle on this podcast idea, and just need to now go thru and convert prior video content into audio-only podcasts. As part of that, I will need to record some intros and closing sections, since much of that is currently a static image in the videos. As part of that configuration, I ended up making some tweaks to the website (you may have noticed a different layout), and got around to configuring my Patreon page for potential funding. If you want to support the effort I put into this, and get some credit…

As I dig further into podcasting, what appeared to be a simpler solution is turning out to be a bit more complex. Yes, the processing of the media files is easier and smaller – it is audio only instead of video – but the process by which to post and distribute is more complex by far. Or at least my knowledge and awareness is more lacking. In the case of video, it is pretty easy these days – configure a YouTube account and start posting. Worse case, publish links to the YouTube channel. In the case of podcasts, you have…

For the past many months, I have been posting videos of our Pathfinder gaming sessions, and have had interest in expanding the scope to my other games. However, one challenge that I have found is that although I have video capability, fundamentally it is all a static scene. As such, the “video” aspect is very minimal, and really the content is almost all audio. Sure, I add a few graphics here and there, but the impact is minimal. As such, I am experimenting with converting most of the content and format instead into a podcast format instead – purely audio…

Last week, most of the posts were about the background details for the characters, and the history of the game setting. This weekend, we finally managed to start the game, and introduce the characters to each other in a very basic scenario (a robbery at an electronics mega-store). The main purpose was really to get each player familiar with their characters, flush out any design flaws, and get the story started. Overall, very successful. Spider Monkey was determined to need some modification (swinging was redundant to his running with clinging ability), but otherwise everyone was fairly happy with the starting…

As a starting point for the campaign, I wrote up a bit of a history lesson on the region and background of the world, along with a few of the notable organizations and NPCs. This is so that the players have a sense of the world, before starting at the first game. In concept, we are using Chicago as the basis, but after a major disaster has destroyed a significant portion, and the city was rebuilt. As such, much of the actual city will no doubt be changed to match the flow and needs of the story. Our first session…
