Hasn’t been much growth or focus on our Etsy presence, but I am happy to say that I consider it a success. Though our product listings are small, there is an audience for them, and I have sold a handful of physical products. This has encouraged me to start expanding the options, I have added several PLA color options to the printed parts, and I have a few new wood-cutting options on the way. As our Tabletop channel grows, we have the opportunity to highlight and demonstrate some of the products and test them in real-world use. H13Hobbies – Etsy

Just about a week or two ago, we had our first Traveller/Shadowrun campaign start, with a one-shot I entitled “Horizons”. The primary focus was to experience the mechanics, understand the general power level, and see which systems worked or needed adjustments. Our intent is to use the Shadowrun 6th edition ruleset in a Traveller-based setting, with the group the crew of a trade ship working their way thru the universe. For the most part, the game was a success. With pre-generated characters, we were able to walk thru most of the basic systems – netrunning, magic, combat, skill checks, etc.…

Within the last couple of days, we have hit yet another milestone, and reached 600 subscribers on our Tabletop channel. For YouTube, this is a small audience, but for our little hobby project, this is massive. My thanks and appreciation to everyone who has subscribed, and especially to our regulars who comment and provide feedback. Thanks to the feedback, and perhaps some experience, the number of in-game errors has come down notably and the skill level of the players has improved. Terrain continues to evolve, and although my mini-painting has stalled out due to my work schedule, we have been…

You may have noticed a drop off in content recently, which seems to be an annual occurrence. Each fall, around October and November, life becomes rather busy with sports, band, and other family activities, and our ability to schedule gaming sessions drops off. I have also taken on some new roles with work, which are absorbing much of my free time. In particular, our Legion game schedule has taken the largest hit, since this requires coordination with multiple groups. Fortunately, the Extinction Curse storyline is completed, and the Carrion Crown is managing to continue thus far, but our Warhammer game…

Thanks to some feedback from viewers, I have corrected a shipping issue with the physical products in the slowly growing Etsy enterprise. Quite simply, being a novice, I misstated the expected size of shipping box, so Etsy was calculating shipping at a horrendous rate ($60+ dollars on a $10 item). The sizing has been corrected, and the shipping charges are now more in line with reality. Still not “cheap” for inexpensive items, but at least in line with typical amounts. To help compensate, Etsy automatically removes any shipping charges for orders totally more than $35. And if you order two…

With the conclusion of our Extinction Curse campaign, we are preparing for the start of our replacement storyline. Originally, the plan was to attempt a Superhero storyline, using the Hero System RPG. That was dropped relatively recently, in favor of a more group-favored Science Fiction campaign. Thus, the Horizon campaign was spawned. The basic concept is to use the Traveller setting and concepts, and use the Shadowrun game mechanics for the actual details. A bit of a chocolate and peanut butter combination, but I feel strongly it will work well. Shadowrun has a fairly well-developed rule system, which works well…

Its official, as of this morning, our Tabletop channel is officially recognized as part of the YouTube Partner Program. That means we are monetized and can start earning some minimal revenue. In truth, it will be truly minimal – the only avenue that is really opened up is what YouTube terms SuperChat, SuperStickers, and SuperThanks. Chat and Stickers are for live streams, which we really are not using, and SuperThanks is along the lines of a tip given for a solid video. As a result, the real impact is likely going to be minimal or non-existent. But the option is…

In my long gaming hobby, spanning 40+ years, I have very rarely finished a campaign. Certainly campaigns have ended, but almost all either die off due to lost motivation, changing interests, schedule conflicts, etc, or just fade away over time. After this weekend, I can say I have fully completed 2 full campaigns, start to finish, with the same group (and many characters). The first was the Rise of the Runelords, which we ran several years ago to completion using the 1st edition of Pathfinder. Now the second has been completed with the Extinction Curse campaign, a different group and…
